Research has started on the “Translations and transformations in patienthood: cancer in the post-genomics era” project. Professor Anne Kerr was recently awarded a joint Wellcome Trust Senior Investigator Award in Medical Humanities with Professor Sarah Cunningham-Burley from the University of Edinburgh to carry out this research. Gwen Jacques has been appointed as a Research Assistant for the project, and will be conducting a range of policy analyses and literature reviews on the biomedical, social scientific, and bioethical aspects of cancer research, services, and patient experience, as well as mapping international cancer networks and patient involvement initiatives. Further information about the project can be found at: http://www.sociology.leeds.ac.uk/news/2014/professor-anne-kerr-awarded-joint-wellcome-trust-senior-investigator-award

A dedicated website for the project will be set up in the coming weeks, and a link to this website will be provided here shortly. A Twitter feed for the project can be found at: https://twitter.com/PostGenomicPts
